Additional information

In the key study, (Butler, 2013), the partition coefficient of the test material was investigated in a GLP study which was conducted in accordance with the standardised guidelines OECD 107 and EU Method A.8 using the shake-flask method.

A stock solution was prepared by diluting test material (0.0413 g) to 100 mL with water saturated n-octanol. Six partitions were performed. The volume ratio of solvents was 1:5, 1:10 and 1:20 (water saturated n-octanol:n-octanol saturated water). In each test, the combined volume of both phases occupied not less than 90 % of the total volume of the test vessel.

The shaking was performed by inversion of the flasks through approximately 180° over a five minute period. Phase separation was then obtained by centrifugation (for 15 minutes at 13500 rpm). Aliquots of both phases were taken for HPLC analysis.

Under the conditions of this study, the partition coefficient of the test material has been determined to be 4.29 x 10at 21.6 ± 1.0 °C, log10 Pow 4.63.
