- Flash point:
- 90.5 °C
- Atm. press.:
- ca. 101 325 Pa
- Interpretation of results:
- Category 4 (combustible liquids) based on GHS criteria
- Conclusions:
- The flash point of the test item is 90.5°C (363.7 K).
- Executive summary:
The flash point of test item was determined under GLP according to the EU method A.9, OPPTS 830.6315 and UN Manual Test Methods 32.4.
The flash point of the test item is 90.5°C (363.7 K) at 101325 Pa (mean value of two independant determiations).
The result obtained on this kind of substance should be largely influence by small amounts of volatile constituents.

Determination of the Flash Point
The results of the determinations are presented in the following tables.
Table 1 : Findings
Program | Expected flash point (setting) in °C | Flash point (found) | Mean | Notes |
Search | 230 | 90.7 |
| not used for calculation (pre-test) |
EN ISO 2719-B | 90 | 90.5 | 90.5 | difference < 2 °C |
EN ISO 2719-B | 90 | 90.5 |
Evaluation and Result
The flash point is given as the mean value of the duplicate determination. The measured
flash point is therefore 90.5 °C (corresponding to 363.7 K).
No difference between the two values which were measured was found. For this reason, the
determination was considered valid.
Description of key information
Flash Point= 90.5°C (exp): The substance is not classified according to Regulation (EC) N°1272/2008 (CLP criteria) and it is classified as combustible liquid Category 4 according to UN Globally Harmonized System (GHS criteria).
Note that the result obtained on this kind of substance should be largely influence by small amounts of volatile constituents.
Key value for chemical safety assessment
- Flash point at 101 325 Pa:
- 90.5 °C
Additional information
The flash point of the test substance was determined under GLP according to EU Method A.9 (Flash-Point), OPPTS 830.6315 and UN Manual Test Methods 32.4., using a non-equilibrium closed cup method (ISO2719 -Part B). It is considered as a key study. The result is retained as key data for purpose of CSA.
