It may be conducted by expert judgemnet that the test item in the sense of EC guideline A.21 because none of the components contains the functional groups quoted in "Manual of Tests and Criteria' (fourth revised edition, appendix, table A 5.1) which may indicate oxidising properties. The determination according to the EC guideline A 21 is not neccesary (Currenta, 2009).

Description of key information

Oxidising properties are determined following the method O.2 (UN-Manual of Testing) or A.21 (EU-method). But in accordance with column 2 of REACH Annex VII, a study does not need to be conducted as the substance does not contain a chemical moiety suggesting an oxidising potential (Currenta, 2009).
