Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

pKa : 4.5 - 5.9

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

One dissociation constant pKa of the test item was determined by means of the spectral photometric method according to OECD guideline N° 112, under GLP.

The study was considered as reliable with restriction because the pure lyophilised substance was not tested but the test material contains 45.6%w/w of water (as marketed). In addition, even after 5 determinations, the dissociation constant was not replicated to within±0.1 log units. It may be due to the chemical structure of the test item, which shows different functional groups with different pKa values.

As final result the pKa of the test item was given as a range and not as a definite value : pKa : 4.5 - 5.9.

The pKa range was retained as key data for purpose of CSA.
