Registration Dossier

Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Remove victim to fresh air and seek medical attention.

Emergency measure - Eyes: Flush with copious amounts of water for at least 15 minutes.

Seek immediate medical attention.

Emergency measure - Skin: Wash affected area efficient with water, take off

contaminated clothes.

Emergency measure - Ingestion: After swallowing, seek immediatly medical attention.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Foam, water scatter jet, carbon dioxide, dry powder

Product arising from burning: Kohlenmonoxid, Kohlendioxid, Stickstoffoxide,

Bromwasserstoff

"ENGLISH"

Carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, nitrogen oxides, hydrogen

bromide

Product determined by test: N

Protective equipment: Air circulation independent respirator

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Avoid dust creation. Absorb the released substance

mechanically and compile it in a well closed container.

To take the substance up, priority should be given to the

use of an industrial vacuum cleaner of approved design.

The compiled material has to be disposed properly.

Adequately label the containes filled with the substance

that hs been taken up (if applicable, in accordance with

Technical Rule 201).

The cleaning workforce has to follow the protective

measures, which are descriped in chapter "handling".

Prevent substance form attaining into the sewage system or

surface water (dike, blocking-out, collect).

Handling and storage

Handling: For all operations the methods and principles of   19 ChemG

and   19 Gefahrenstoffverordnung will be complied. The

conventional precautions for the chemical industry for the

handling with chemicals have to be considered:

All working methods must be designed so that exposure by

inhalation of the substance is minimised. In addition, skin

contact with the substance should be avoided. Closed, or at

least dustproof, equipment should be used during filling and

metered feeding as well as, if applicable, during sampling.

In the case of handling in open systems, any dust that can

form must be extracted directly at the point of origin. If

technical extraction or ventilation measures are not

possible or are insufficient, respiratory protection to the

standard EN 149 (see below) should be worn. To avoid skin

contact, tested protective gloves according to standard EN

368 (see below) should be worn. Outdoor clothing should be

kept separate from working clothes.

- respiratory protection: (particle filtering half mask P 3)

- eye protection: glasses

- hand protection: butyl or nitrile gloves

- one-way-protective clothing

Open and handle the container with care. Take care of

sufficient suction and ventilation. Dust formation has to be

avoided.

If dust can develop, due to the potential of explosion risk,

potential ignition sources should be removed from the work

area. In addition, measures such as earthing all equipment

and plant parts should be taken to prevent electrostatic

discharge. Do not use any spark-producing equipment or

tools.

Storage: Keep dry and cool on a well conditioned place.

Storage only in the original container.

Keep away from light.

Keep containers tightly closed and secure against falling.

Containers label accoring to the regulations.

Packaging of the substance and or preparation: Fiber barrel with PE-inner sack.

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: The substance will be completely transformed. A chemical

recovery over fractional crystallisation would be

imaginable.

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: Unknown

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Combustion with flue gas scrubber.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Residues and not cleanable packages requires special

disposal.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Unknown

Industry - Possibility of destruction - other: Unknown

Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Not relevant, because the substance is an industrial

intermediate for internal purpose only and will not be

emitted to the public.
