First-aid measures

In case of malaise consult a doctor.
Transport the injured person to fresh air and keep him at rest in a position that is comfortable for breathing. If breathing is difficult, give oxygen. Consult a doctor if you feel unwell.
Remove contaminated clothing (possibly shoes). Wash the affected part of the body with soap or a mild detergent and rinse with plenty of water until the substance is completely removed (15-20 minutes). Notify the doctor and show him the label.
Wash immediately and abundantly with water or physiological solution for at least 15 minutes. Keep eyelids wide apart while washing. Consult your doctor if you feel unwell. If the person is conscious, rinse mouth out with plenty of water. Do not induce vomiting. In case of malaise consult a doctor.

Inhalation of product dust may cause coughing and irritation of the nose and throat.
Causes skin irritation.
Direct contact with eyes may cause irritation due to mechanical damage.
Ingestion may cause irritation of the gastrointestinal tract.

Based on the risk assessment, the competent doctor will establish the most appropriate medical monitoring protocol to protect the health of workers, in accordance with Article 10 of Directive 98/24/EC (Title IX of Legislative Decree 81/2008 ).
There are no known specific antidotes and contraindications.

Fire-fighting measures

Carbon dioxide (CO2), foam, water spray, powder.
Do not use a jet of water.

Slight fire hazard when exposed to heat or flame. Mixtures of dust and air can ignite or explode.
Thermal decomposition or combustion can cause liberation of toxic and dangerous fumes containing COx, HCl and other substances in case of incomplete decomposition.

Activate the foreseen emergency procedures. Fire management must be carried out by trained personnel or by the Fire Brigade. The procedure for extinguishing the fire must be chosen according to the characteristics of the fire and the surrounding areas.
Evacuate personnel not involved in the procedures to a safe place.
Do not try to extinguish the fire without using a self-contained breathing apparatus and suitable protective clothing. Wear boots, gloves, overalls, eye and face protection compliant with the relevant UNI/EN standards.
Use jets of water to cool containers near the fire to prevent product decomposition and the development of substances potentially hazardous to health. Remove containers from fire area if it can be done safely.
Wear self contained breathing apparatus (SCBA), flame retardant protective clothing, boots, gloves, coveralls, eye and face protection. The equipment must comply with national/international standards and be used in the maximum conditions of protection based on the information reported in the previous subsections.

Accidental release measures

Wear the Personal Protective Equipment indicated in the emergency procedures. PPE must comply with EN standards.
Ventilate spill area. Remove all possible sources of ignition and heat, provide adequate ventilation, evacuate people to safe areas.
Avoid breathing dust. Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothing.
Wear appropriate protective equipment.

Wear appropriate protective equipment to minimize exposure to the product.
Stop the leak, if it is safe to do so. Do not intervene without adequate protective equipment.

In case of spill or accidental release, prevent the substance from reaching sewers and surface water or groundwater. If the product has flown into a water course, into the sewer system or has contaminated the soil or vegetation, notify the competent authorities. Do not disperse in the environment.

Eliminate all sources of heat and ignition. Stop the spill as much as possible by wearing appropriate protective equipment.
Collect the spilled product and place it in containers for recovery or disposal without creating dust, vacuuming the spill with a suitable vacuum cleaner. Reduce dust in the air and prevent scattering. Keep in suitable, closed containers for disposal. Use non-sparking tools and equipment.

Handling and storage

The substance is used under strictly controlled conditions.

Ensure good ventilation of the workplace. Emergency eyewash fountains and safety showers should be available near any location where there is a risk of exposure. Keep away from sources of ignition. Not smoking. Avoid breathing dust. Avoid contact with eyes and skin.
Immediately remove all contaminated clothing and wash before reuse. Do not eat, drink or smoke during use. Wash hands after each handling. Contaminated work clothing must not be taken out of the workplace.

Store in the original containers, tightly closed and labeled with the name of the product, in a cool, dry place away from sources of ignition. Avoid exposure to light and protect from moisture. Store away from incompatible materials. Even empty containers can be dangerous, as they can hold product residue. Ensure good ventilation in the workplace. Keep away from food, drink and feed. Keep in a well-ventilated place. Keep in a cool place.

Recommendations for the end use of the substance as an intermediate used under strictly controlled conditions: adopt technical, control and procedural measures, such as to minimize exposure of workers and the environment during use, in compliance with the requirements of the Regulation REACH (Article 18). Workers are trained to work according to company procedures compliant with OHSAS 18001.

Exposure controls / personal protection

The substance is an intermediate, used under strictly controlled conditions.

Tracking Methods:
The measurement of chemical substances in the workplace must be carried out with standardized methods (e.g. UNI EN 689:2019: Exposure in the workplace - Measurement of exposure by inhalation to chemical agents - Strategy for verifying compliance with limit values of occupational exposure; UNI EN 482:2015: Exposure in the workplace - General requirements concerning the performance of procedures for the measurement of chemical agents) or, in their absence, with appropriate methods.

Applicable OEL and BLV for air contaminants:
No airborne contaminants expected under normal use.

Further information:
The measurement of substances in the workplace must be carried out with standardized methods or, in their absence, with appropriate methods.

Appropriate engineering controls:
Appropriate technical exposure control measures, to be adopted in the workplace, must be selected and applied following the risk assessment carried out by the employer, in relation to his work activity (in accordance with directive 98/24/EEC , implemented by Legislative Decree 81 of 9 April 2008 and subsequent amendments). Ensure good ventilation of the workplace.

Eye protection:
Wear tightly fitting safety goggles or face shield (EN 166).

Skin and body protection:
Wear category II professional long-sleeved overalls and safety footwear (EN 344). Wash with soap and water after removing protective clothing.

Hand protection:
Chemical resistant gloves according to EN 374.
The glove material must be impermeable and resistant to the product.
Material : nitrile (nitrile rubber), hypoallergenic
Thickness : not less than 0.12 mm

Respiratory protection:
Wear suitable respiratory protection devices compliant with UNI EN standards.

Protection against thermal risks:
Not foreseen in the standard practices of use of the substance. Evaluate any personal protective equipment based on particular conditions of use of the same.

Environmental exposure controls:
Do not disperse in the environment

Stability and reactivity

The substance is not considered reactive under normal conditions of storage and use.

The substance is stable under normal conditions of temperature and pressure and if stored in closed containers in a cool and well-ventilated place.

Under normal conditions of storage and use, hazardous reactions will not occur. Dusts, if finely dispersed, could form explosive mixtures with air.

Avoid exposure to heat, direct sunlight and sources of ignition, flames and sparks.

Strong oxidizing agents, strong bases.

Thermal decomposition or combustion can cause liberation of toxic and dangerous fumes containing COx, HCl and other substances in case of incomplete decomposition.
