Recommended extinguishing agent: Carbon dioxide, dry chemical or foam may be used.

Product arising from burning: Products of combustion may contain oxides of carbon and

nitrogen.

Product determined by test: N

Protective equipment: A self-contained breathing apparatus should be worn.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Wear suitable protective clothing (see 2.3.1). Remove all

sources of ignition, ventilate the area. Take up spill and

transfer to suitable containers and dispose of at a landfill

site or by incineration in accordance with local

regulations. Do not allow spill to enter sewers and

waterways.

Handling and storage

Handling: The substance is only supplied in the form of a preparation

which should be handled in a well ventilated area.

Nitrile or neoprene gloves, safety goggles with sideshield

and a full face respirator should be worn.

Storage: Store in tightly closed containers in a well ventilated area

and away from sources of ignition.

The preparation has a flash point of about 39 deg C.

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Recovery for recycling is not possible.

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: None known.

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: The substance can be disposed of at a landfill site in

sealed vessel. (A650)

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Recommended method at a suitable facility. Waste gas

treatment to remove oxides of nitrogen should be fitted.

(A661)

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Not recommended.

Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Recovery from fuels is not feasible.

Public at large - Possibility of neutralisation: The hazardous effects are due more to the presence of the

solvent and fuel.  They should be handled carefully as they

are flammable materials.

Public at large - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Not recommended.

Public at large - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Recommended method at an approved facility. Waste gas

treatment to remove oxides of nitrogen should be fitted.
