First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Remove patient to fresh air. Seek medical attention.

Emergency measure - Eyes: Rinse with plenty of water for 10 minutes. Seek medical

attention.

Emergency measure - Skin: Wash affected area with soap and water. If irritation

develops, seek medical attention.

Emergency measure - Ingestion: Seek medical attention.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Water, carbon dioxide, foam or dry powder may be used.

Product arising from burning: Products of combustion may contain oxides of carbon and

hydrogen bromide, hydrogen fluoride together with some soot.

Protective equipment: Full personal protective equipment and approved positive

pressure, self-contained breathing apparatus with full face

mask should be worn.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Isolate spillage. Absorb spill with suitable material such

as sand or sawdust. Shovel or sweep up and place in suitable

labelled sealed containers. Dispose of by incineration in

accordance with local regulations. Flush spill site with

water to remove trace residues and avoid washings entering

drainage system. Inform water and local authorities

immediately.

Handling and storage

Handling: Avoid breathing vapours. The substance should only be

handled in a well ventilated area. Avoid skin contact.

Impervious gloves, goggles, personal protective equipment

and a self contained breathing apparatus should be worn.

Keep away from all sources of ignition and avoid contact

with strong oxidising agents.

Storage: Store in tightly sealed container in a cool, dark place,

away from any sources of ignition. Protect against static

charges.
