Description of key information

Direct Blue 094 is a dark blue granulate, solid at 20 °C. The melting point of the substance has been identified at 254 °C at 101.325 kPa when tested according to OECD Guideline 102. No boiling point was determined until 350 °C when tested according to OECD Guideline 103. The average relative density was found to be 1.3618 g/cm³ at 20 °C (OECD Guideline 109). The median particle size (L50) was 73.152 µm, whereas L10 and L90 were 16.595 µm and 301.94 µm, respectively. The partition coefficient n-octanol/water at 20 °C was determined as log Pow = -2.16 when tested according to OECD guideline 107. The water solubility at 20 °C was determined to be 0.255 g/l. The surface tension was determined to be 53.662 mN/m at 20 °C. No auto-ignition was observed up to 550 °C. According to EU method A.10, no ignition occurred within two minutes. Therefore, the substance is considered as not highly flammable and the test substance is considered to be non-explosive. The substance is incapable of reacting exothermically with combustible materials on the basis of its chemical structure, hence it is considered to be not oxidising.
