Applicant's summary and conclusion

Interpretation of results:
not classified based on GHS criteria
Conclusions:
The flammability was determined in a GLP guideline study according to EU method A.10 without deviations on the registered substance itself. Hence, there is no indication given that the results are not reliable. No ignition was observed throughout the course of the test. The test item Sulfobetaines, coco alkyldimethyl(3-sulfopropyl) should hence be considered as not highly flammable (for EU regulations) and non-flammable solid (for UN regulations), respectively. No observations were made which might cause doubts concerning the validity of the study outcome.
Executive summary:

The flammability was determined in a GLP guideline study according to EU method A.10. First, a safety test was performed. A small amount of the test item was heated on a magnesia groove with a gas burner in order to derive safety precautions. It was observed that the test item melted and burned with an orange flame without a residue. In the preliminary screening test following the EU method and UN method, the test item was heated with the flame of a teclu burner. The test item melted to a yellow-brown liquid. No ignition occurred within two minutes. Therefore, the test item Sulfobetaines, coco alkyldimethyl(3-sulfopropyl) (Ralufon DCH) should be considered as not highly flammable (for EU regulations) / non-flammable solid (for UN regulations).
