Results and discussion

Auto-ignition temperature (liquids / gases)open allclose all
Auto-ignition temperature:
> 400 °C
Atm. press.:
ca. 1 atm
Remarks on result:
other: testing without diatomite; substance is melting prior to self ignition
Auto-ignition temperature:
>= 240 °C
Atm. press.:
ca. 1 atm
Remarks on result:
other: testing with diatomite (ratio testing substance : diatomite 1 :1); start of self heating at 240°C (temperature rise up to 400°C), start of a second oxidizing reaction at 300°C (temperature rise to >700°C

Applicant's summary and conclusion

Conclusions:
Due to it's auto flammability properties (no self heating below melting point) the tested substance Napthol AS-ONSAP has not to be classified as self-heating substance according to EC 1272/2008 (CLP Regulation).
