Administrative data

First-aid measures

Eye contact - rinse immediately with tap water for 10 minutes - open eyelids forcibly
- summon a physician immediately
Skin contact - remove immediately contaminated clothes, wash affected skin with water and soap - do not use any solvents
- summon a physician immediately
Inhalation - remove the casualty to fresh air and keep him/her calm - get medical treatment
Note to physician - treat symptomatically
- when difficulties of breathing occur, b-mimetica and inhalative steroids may be applied; in severe cases apply steroids i.v.

Fire-fighting measures

Suitable extinguishing media - water spray jet, dry powder, foam, carbon dioxide
Specific hazards - formation of toxic and corrosive combustion gases (hydrogen chloride (HCl)) possible
Protection of fire-fighters - precipitate gases/vapours/mists with water spray

Accidental release measures

Environmental protection - do not allow to enter drains or waterways
Methods for cleaning up - collect spills with inert adsorbent and hand over to waste removal

Handling and storage

Handling
Technical measures - processing in closed systems, superposed by inert gas (e.g. nitrogen) - local exhaust ventilation necessary
- take precautionary measures against electrostatic charging
Suitable materials - enamel, glass
Storage
Storage conditions - in closed containers - cool Validity - 12 months, 8 to 15 °C,
Packaging materials - tightly closing; material: coated steel (plastic), enamel

Exposure controls / personal protection

Monitoring
Analytics - sampling on glass fibre filter combined with adsorption tube and chemical determination

Personal protective equipment
Respiratory protection - respirator with independent air supply or protective mask with combined filter
Hand protection - protective gloves (eg made of neoprene, nitrile or butyl rubber)
Eye protection - tightly fitting safety glasses
Body protection - protective clothing

General protective and hygiene measures
- instruction of employees recommended

Engeneering measures: see "handling and storage"

Stability and reactivity

Conditions to avoid - warming
Materials to avoid - oxidizing agents, reducing agents
Hazardous decomposition products - hydrochloric acid

Disposal considerations

Waste from residues - incinerate in qualified installation with flue gas scrubbing
- observe local/national regulations regarding waste disposal
