First-aid measures

Description of first aid measures
- Remove victim out of the danger area. Change contaminated, saturated clothing. When in doubt or if symptoms are observed, get medical advice.

General information
- Observe risk of aspiration if vomiting occurs.

Following inhalation
- Remove casualty to fresh air and keep warm and at rest. In case of respiratory tract irritation, consult a physician.

In case of skin contact
- After contact with skin, wash immediately with plenty of water and soap. In case of skin reactions, consult a physician.

After eye contact
- In case of contact with eyes flush immediately with plenty of flowing water for 10 to 15 minutes holding eyelids apart and consult an ophthalmologist.

After ingestion
- If accidentally swallowed rinse the mouth with plenty of water (only if the person is conscious) and obtain immediate medical attention. Give water to drink in small sips (dilution effect).

Self-protection of the first aider
- First aider: Pay attention to self-protection!

Most important symptoms and effects, both acute and delayed
- No information available.

Indication of any immediate medical attention and special treatment needed
- None

Fire-fighting measures

Extinguishing media
- Suitable extinguishing media: Sand Foam, Carbon dioxide (CO2), Dry extinguishing powder
- Unsuitable extinguishing media: High power water jet

Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture
- Hazardous combustion products: Nitrogen oxides (NOx) and Sulphur oxides

Advice for firefighters
- In case of fire: Wear self-contained breathing apparatus.

Additional information
- Do not inhale explosion and combustion gases. Collect contaminated fire extinguishing water separately. Do not allow entering drains or surface water.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures
- Use personal protection equipment. Remove all sources of ignition. Provide adequate ventilation.

Environmental precautions
- Do not allow to enter into surface water or drains. Prevent spread over a wide area (e.g. by containment or oil barriers). Retain contaminated washing water and dispose it. In case of gas escape or of entry into waterways, soil or drains, inform the responsible authorities.

Methods and material for containment and cleaning up
- Absorb with liquid-binding material (e.g. sand, diatomaceous earth, acid- or universal binding agents).

Handling and storage

Precautions for safe handling
- All work processes must always be designed so that the following is excluded: Inhalation of vapours or spray/mists, Skin contact, Eye contact. If local exhaust ventilation is not possible or not sufficient, the entire working area should be ventilated by technical means.

Protective measures
- Measures to prevent fire: Keep away from sources of ignition. - No smoking.

Advices on general occupational hygiene
- When using do not eat, drink, smoke, sniff. Wash hands before breaks and after work.

Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities
- Floors should be impervious, resistant to liquids and easy to clean. Provide for retaining containers, e.g. floor pan without outflow. Keep/Store only in original container. Keep container tightly closed. Ensure adequate ventilation of the storage area.
- Further information on storage conditions: Protect against: Heat and UV-radiation/sunlight

Exposure controls / personal protection

Control parameters
- None

Exposure controls
- Minimum standard for preventive measures while handling with working materials are specified in the TRGS 500.

Personal protection equipment
- Eye/face protection: Eye glasses with side protection
- Skin protection: Hand protection: Gloves with long cuffs DIN EN 374, Suitable material: Butyl caoutchouc (butyl rubber).
- Respiratory protection: If technical exhaust or ventilation measures are not possible or insufficient, respiratory protection must be worn. Suitable respiratory protection apparatus: Combination filtering device (EN 14387). Additional measures for respiratory protection: Filter types: A, B, E, K. Class 1: Maximum permitted contaminant concentration in inhaled air = 1000 mL/m³ (0.1 % by vol.); class 2: maximum permitted contaminant concentration in inhaled air = 5000 mL/m³ (0.5 % by vol.); class 3: maximum permitted contaminant concentration in inhaled air = 10000 mL/m³ (1.0 % by vol.). Use only respiratory protection equipment with CE-symbol including four digit test number. Observe the wear time limits according GefStoffV in combination with the rules for using respiratory protection apparatus (BGR 190).

Stability and reactivity

Stable under recommended storage and handling conditions.

- Reactivity: No information available.
- Chemical stability: Decomposition takes place from temperatures above: 230°C
- Possibility of hazardous reactions: No information available.
- Conditions to avoid: In case of exceeding the storage temperature: Danger of bursting container.
- Incompatible materials: Oxidising agent.
- Hazardous decomposition products: May cause decomposition by long-term light influence.
- Additional information: May form explosive peroxides.

Disposal considerations

Waste treatment methods
- Can be incinerated together with household waste in compliance with applicable technical regulations following consultation with approved waste disposal management companies and authorities in charge.

Product/Packaging disposal
- Waste codes/waste designations according to EWC/AVV. Waste code product: 160305

Waste treatment options
- Appropriate disposal / Package: Non-contaminated packages may be recycled.
