Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

In the key study (Desmares-Koopmans, 2013) toxicity to microorganism was determined in an activated sludge respiration test conducted under GLP conditions and in accordance with standardised guidelines. Activated sludge of a predominantly domestic sewage treatment plant was exposed to the test material at a loading rates of up to 1000 mg/L for 3 hours under static conditions. Oxygen consumption was measured to determine the rate of respiration, where inhibition was determined relative to the blank control.

The test material was not completely soluble in test medium, test concentrations were therefore expressed as loading rates initially prepared.

Under the conditions of this test, the test material was not toxic to waste water (activated sludge) bacteria at loading rates up to 1000 mg/L. Therefore the NOEC was determined to be 1000 mg/L and the EC50 is considered to exceed a loading rate of 1000 mg/L.
