First-aid measures

• Consult a physician: show the SDS to the doctor

• If inhaled, move person to fresh air. If not breathing, give artificial respiration and contact medical professional immediately.

• In case of skin contact, remove contaminated clothing and shoes immediately. Wash with soap and plenty of water and consult a physician if irritation develops or persists.

• In case of eye contact rinse thoroughly with plenty of water for 15 minutes.  Contact a physician immediately.

• If swallowed, do not induce vomiting. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. Rinse mouth with water.

• Most important symptoms and effects: Material is extremely destructive to tissue of the mucous membranes and upper respiratory tract, eyes and skin, spasm, inflammation and edema of the larynx, inflammation and edema of the bronchi, pneumonitis, pulmonary edema, burning sensation, cough, wheezing, shortness of breath, headache, nausea, vomiting.

Fire-fighting measures

• Extinguishing media: dry powder

• Special hazards arising from the substance: carbon oxides, oxides of phosphorus, hydrogen chloride gas

• Advice for firefighters: wear self-contained breathing apparatus

Accidental release measures

• Personal precautions, PPE and emergency procedures: use PPE. Avoid breathing vapors, mist or gas. Ensure adequate ventilation. Evacuate personnel to safe areas.

• Environmental: Do not let product enter drains.

• Methods for containment and cleanup: Soak up with inert absorbent material and dispose of as hazardous waste. Do not flush with water. Keep on suitable, closed containers for disposal.

Handling and storage

• Avoid inhalation of vapor and mist.

• Store in cool place.

• Keep container tightly closed in a dry and well ventilated place. Containers which are opened must be carefully resealed.

• Corrosive to metal. Shipping containers HDPE. Store only in original containers, or in corrosion-resistant container or container with corrosion-resistant liner.

• Never allow product to get in contact with water during storage.

• Recommended storage temperature: -20°C (to ensure product quality).

Exposure controls / personal protection

Technical protection measures: Good ventilation

Organizational protection measures: Handle in accordance with good industrial hygiene practice. Wash hands before breaks and at the end of the workday.

Hand protection:  Handle with gloves which satisfy EN 374. Gloves must be inspected prior to use. Use glove removal technique to avoid skin contact. Wash and dry hands after handling.

Body protection: Complete suit protecting from chemicals. Flame retardant clothing.

Eye protection: Tight fitting safety goggles. Face shield. EN 166

Respiratory protection:  Where risk shows air purifying respirators are appropriate use a full face respirator with multi-purpose combination (EN 14387) respirator cartridge as a backup to engineering controls.

Stability and reactivity

Reacts violently with water.

Disposal considerations

Dispose of via a licensed disposal company. Contaminated packaging should be disposed of in the same manner as an unused product.
