Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Endpoint:
relative density
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Study period:
From 15 September 2016 to 31 August 2016
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
guideline study
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
OECD Guideline 109 (Density of Liquids and Solids)
Deviations:
yes
Remarks:
The deviation is not considered to affect the quality or the integrity of the study. The purging time was less than 20 minutes.
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
EU Method A.3 (Relative Density)
Deviations:
yes
Remarks:
The deviation is not considered to affect the quality or the integrity of the study. The purging time was less than 20 minutes.
GLP compliance:
yes (incl. QA statement)
Type of method:
air comparison pycnometer (for solids)
Key result
Type:
relative density
Density:
>= 2.607 - <= 2.609 g/cm³
Temp.:
20 °C

Two assays (consisting of 3 runs) have been performed. The difference between the results obtained was less than 0.2%.

Based on the data obtained in these tests and the water density at 4°C (0.999975 g.cm3), the relative density of the test item is between 2.607 and 2.609.

Conclusions:
The relative density of the test item is 2.608 +/- 0.001.
Executive summary:

The density of the test item was determined with the air comparison pycnometer according to recognized guidelines (OECD Guideline 109 and EU method A.3) and under GLP.

A deviation (which didn't affect the quality or the integrity of the study) has been observed during this test.

Before the test, the validity of the apparatus was check with a reference item. The results obtained were conform with the theroretical data so the apparatus was considered suitable for used.

The relative density of the test item was obtained by the ratio of the test item density at 20°C and the water density at 4°C. The relative density obtained was 2.608 +/- 0.001.

Description of key information

The density of the test item was determined with the air comparison pycnometer according to recognized guidelines (OECD Guideline 109 and EU method A.3) and under GLP.

A deviation (which didn't affect the quality or the integrity of the study) has been observed during this test.

Before the test, the conformity of the apparatus was check with a reference item. The results obtained were conform with the theoretical data so the apparatus was considered suitable for used.
