Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Endpoint:
vapour pressure
Data waiving:
study scientifically not necessary / other information available
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because the melting point is above 300°C

Description of key information

not relevant since melting temperature > 515°C.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Vapour pressure:
0 Pa
at the temperature of:
25 °C

Additional information

Column 2 of REACH Annex VII section 7.5 states that the vapour pressure measurement "does not need to be conducted if the melting point is above 300°C." These substances are considered to have a very low vapour pressure. The melting point of tin disulfide was determined experimentally according to EU method A.1 and OECD 102 to be >515°C. For the risk assessment a worst case value of 0.000000001 Pa (the lowest value which could be added to the relevant field in the endpoint summary) will be used.
