First-aid measures

First-aid measures after inhalation : Remove victim to fresh air and keep at rest in a position comfortable for breathing. When

appropriate oxygen breathing. In all cases of doubt, or when symptoms persist, seek medical advice.

First-aid measures after skin contact : Immediately remove any wetted clothing, shoes or stockings. After contact with skin, wash

immediately with plenty of water. In all cases of doubt, or when symptoms persist, seek medical advice.

First-aid measures after eye contact : In case of contact with eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of flowing water for > 15 minutes

holding eyelids apart. Subsequently consult an ophthalmologist.

First-aid measures after ingestion : Rinse mouth immediately and drink large quantities of water. Get medical advice/attention.

Symptoms/injuries after inhalation : Inhalation of vapours in high concentration may cause irritation of respiratory system.

Symptoms/injuries after skin contact : May cause skin irritation in susceptible persons.

Symptoms/injuries after eye contact : May cause eye irritation.

Symptoms/injuries after ingestion : May cause irritation to the digestive tract.

Fire-fighting measures

Suitable extinguishing media : Powder. Carbon dioxide (CO2). Atomized water. Alcohol resistant foam.

Unsuitable extinguishing media : High power water jet.

Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture: Reactivity : On burning release of harmful/irritant gases/vapours e.g.: (carbon monoxide - carbon dioxide).

Firefighting instructions : Use water spray/stream to protect personnel and to cool endangered containers.

Other information : Collect contaminated fire extinguishing water separately. Do not allow entering drains or surface water.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures: see handling & storage and exposure controls/personal protection.

Environmental precautions: Do not empty into drains or the aquatic environment.

For containment : Absorb with liquid-binding material (e.g. sand, diatomaceous earth, acid- or universal binding agents).

Methods for cleaning up : After cleaning, flush away traces with water.

Handling and storage

Precautions for safe handling : Avoid contact with skin, eye and clothing. Provide adequate ventilation.

Hygiene measures : Wash hands before breaks and at the end of work.

Storage conditions : Store in a cool dry place.

Prohibitions on mixed storage : oxidizing agents. strong alkalis.

Storage area : Keep container tightly closed in a cool, well-ventilated place.

Exposure controls / personal protection

Hand protection : Rubber gloves. (EN 374).

Eye protection : Tightly sealed safety glasses. (EN 166).

Skin and body protection : Avoid contact with skin, eye and clothing. For the protection against direct skin contact, body

protective clothing is essential (in addition to the usual working clothes). Wear face protection. Take off contaminated clothing and wash before reuse.

Respiratory protection : In case of inadequate ventilation wear respiratory protection. Filter respirator (full mask or mouth-piece) with filter: A2. In case of fine dispersion/spraying/misting: A2P2.

Stability and reactivity

Reactivity: On burning release of harmful/irritant gases/vapours e.g.: (carbon monoxide - carbon dioxide).

Chemical stability: Stable in use and storage conditions as recommended in item 7.

Possibility of hazardous reactions: No additional information available

Conditions to avoid: heat. radiant heat.

Incompatible materials: Oxidizing agents. strong alkalis.

Hazardous decomposition products: Carbon oxides (COx).

Disposal considerations

Waste treatment methods:

Regional legislation (waste) : Remove according to the regulations.

Sewage disposal recommendations : Ensure all waste water is collected and treated via a waste water treatment plant.

Waste disposal recommendations : Collect in closed containers for disposal.
