Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

ECOSAR (EPI Suite ECOSAR, v1), a computer model, was used to estimate the toxicity to Daphnia of bis(2 -ethoxyethyl)ether.

Bis(2 -ethoxyethyl)ether was classified as a Neutral Organic compound, and the partition coefficient was used to calculate the acute and chronic LD50values. Narcosis was predicted to be the principal mode of action.

The acute LD50to Daphnia was estimated to be 1178.847 mg/L

A short-term toxicity test in an aquatic invertebra (Nitocra Spinipes) was done in brackish water. The time of exposure was 96 hr and mortality was observed to obtain an LC50 value. The LC50 for diethylene glycol diethyl ether was 6600 mg/mL. This study is used as a supporting study.
