In the Klimisch 1 GLP study from Franke (2001) the vapour pressure of Chloroacetamide was determined using calibrated pycnometers with thermometer following OECD 104 and EU method A.4. The vapour pressure of Chloroacetamide at 20, 25, and 50 °C was determined by regression from data obtained in the temperature range from 33.9 to 125°C by using the dynamic method, the vapour pressure balance and the gas saturation method.

At20, 25, and 50 °C the vapour pressure is 0.26, 0.48 and 7.8 Pa. At 125°C disintegration of the test material was observed.

The results of this study are considered reliable and relevant for the risk assessment.

In the supporting Klimisch 2 study from CABB (2007) the vapour pressure of Chloroacetamide was calculated using the international accepted QSAR tool EPIwin. For 25 °C the vapour pressure was calculated to be 1.4 Pa.

Hence this analysis supported that Chloroacetamide has a low vapour pressure. For the risk assessment, the measured vapour pressures will be used, i.e., 0.48 Pa at 25°C.

 

The results of this study are considered reliable and relevant for the risk assessment.
