This is unique source of information on the chemicals manufactured and imported in Europe. It covers their hazardous properties, classification and labelling, and information on how to use them safely.
The European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) hosted a workshop on substance identification and substance sameness. The workshop was attended by 47 participants from Member State Competent Authorities, European Commission and representatives from accredited stakeholder organisations.
Some 200 representatives of potential applicants have participated in ECHA's seminars on application for authorisation. Furthermore many others have been involved in the preparation of applications. It would be opportune now to share experiences and lessons learned to further improve the process. ECHA is organising this workshop in collaboration with Cefic and Eurometaux.
Substances on the Authorisation List (Annex XIV of the REACH Regulation) cannot be placed on the market or used after the so-called "sunset date" unless an authorisation has been granted for a specific use, or if the use has been exempted from authorisation. As soon as a substance is included in the Authorisation List, manufacturers, importers or downstream users of this substance may apply for an authorisation.
CEFIC and EUROMETAUX will organise in association with ECHA a workshop on the timing and handling of submissions on the upcoming applications for chromates. The focus of this workshop is on the process aspects of the applications.
