Polyneuropathy was observed in 12 out of 23 subjects exposed to phthalates—bilateral painful decreased sensitivity of skin or senses of the hands and feet were observed in seven of these 23 subjects (three showed reduced sensitivity to vibration). In the alcohol-exposed group, two out of nine showed sensory neuropathy, and one out of six showed hyporeflexia in the anhydride exposed group.
