Exposure controls / personal protection
This substance is handled under Strictly Controlled Conditions in accordance with REACH regulation Article 18(4) for transported isolated intermediates.
The details of Risk Management Measures are reported in section 13.
Site documentation to support safe handling arrangements including the selection of engineering, administrative and personal protective equipmentcontrols in accordance with risk-based management systems is available at the manufacturing site.
- Additional information about design of technical facilities: No further data
- Control parameters
- Ingredients with limit values that require monitoring at the workplace: Not required.
- Additional information: The lists valid during the making were used as basis.
- Exposure controls
- Personal protective equipment:
- General protective and hygienic measures:
The usual precautionary measures are to be adhered to when handling chemicals.
Keep away from foodstuffs, beverages and feed.
Immediately remove all soiled and contaminated clothing
Wash hands before breaks and at the end of work.
Special rooms for washing, showering and changing are required.
Do not inhale dust/smoke/mist.
Avoid contact with the eyes and skin.
- Respiratory protection:
In case of brief exposure or low pollution use respiratory filter device. In case of
intensive or longer exposure use self-contained respiratory protective device.
- Protection of hands:
The glove material has to be impermeable and resistant to the substance.
Selection of the glove material on consideration of the penetration times, rates of diffusion and the
degradation
- Material of gloves
The selection of the suitable gloves does not only depend on the material, but also on further
marks of quality and varies from manufacturer to manufacturer.
Neoprene gloves
- Penetration time of glove material
For the mixture / substance mentioned in section 3, the penetration time has to be at least 480
minutes.
The exact break through time has to be found out by the manufacturer of the protective gloves
and has to be observed.
- Eye protection:
Tightly sealed goggles
- Body protection: Protective work clothing
- Limitation and supervision of exposure into the environment
Product as well as with product contaminated constituents, cleaning or solvent: do not release into the
environment.
Dispose of as hazardous waste in accordance with EC directives on waste.
- Risk management measures
This substance is handled under Strictly Controlled Conditions in accordance with REACH regulation
Article 17(3) for transported isolated intermediates. In case the substance is transported to other sites for
further processing, the substance should be handled at these sites under the Strictly Controlled
Conditions as specified in REACH regulation Article 18(4). Site documentation to support safe handling
arrangements including the selection of engineering, administrative and personal protective equipment
controls in accordance with risk-based management systems is available at each manufacturing site.
Every affected distributor / downstream user has to ensure that the intermediate is used for synthesis of
another substance / other substances under strictly controlled conditions according to REACH regulation
Article 17,18.
