Administrative data
First-aid measures
- After inhalation : Remove to fresh air. Evacuate the area.
- After skin contact : Wash with water and soap and rinse thoroughly. Seek medical advice in case of unrest.
- After eye contact : Flush thoroughly with plenty of water, with eyelids held open, for at least 15 min. Seek medical advice in case of persistent irritation.
- After ingestion : Rinse mouth with water provided the person is conscious. Call medical emergency.
- Further recommendations: This product can produce effects close to CYANIDE. Keep a FIRST AID KIT nearby when using this product. Available antidotes are: sodium thiosulfate, Dimethylaminophenol, Co2-
EDTA. Signs of exposure: Caution! Symptoms may be delayed.
Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, headache, dizziness, flushing and cyanosis. Other symptoms include excitement or mental depression, drowsiness, deterioration of perception, lack of coordination, stupor, coma and death.
- Special indications for the doctor : -
- Most important symptoms and effect, both acute and delayed: - Briefly summarised information shall be provided on the most important symptoms and effects, both acute and delayed, from exposure.
- Indication of many medical attention and special treatment needed: if medical treatments are known.
Fire-fighting measures
- Suitable: Water spray, carbon dioxide, alcohol resistant foam or extinguishing powder.
- Unsuitable : do not use water-jet
- Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture: In case of fire, do not breathe fumes. Very toxic and toxic fumes can be released under fires conditions (HCN: hydrogen cyanide, NOx: Nitrogen oxides, CO: carbon monoxide, CO2: carbon dioxide).
- Advice for fire fighters: Fire fighters must use self-contained breathing apparatus and wear protective clothing
Accidental release measures
- Environmental precautions: Do not allow material to be released in the environment without proper governmental permit. Prevent from entering sewers or drains.
- Methods and material for containment and cleaning: Sweep or absorb with sawdust, sand or vermiculite and place in closed containers for disposal. Dispose of according to local and regional authority requirements.
- Reference to other sections: Information regarding Safe handling, see chapter 7.
Information regarding personal protective measures, see chapter 8.
Information regarding Waste Disposal, see chapter 13.
Handling and storage
- Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities: Store in a cool, dry place. Keep container tightly closed. Keep away from light. Avoid heat. Do not store more than 3 years.
- Specific end use(s): No specific end use.

Exposure controls / personal protection
- Exposure controls:
- Breathing equipment: (a) For low concentrations and / or short time exposure (EN 143 or 149).
(b) For high concentrations and / or repeated or prolonged exposure wear re-usable full face masks (EN136) or self-contained breathing apparatus (EN137 or EN145).
- Hand Protection: Wear chemical resistant gloves in rubber, latex, nitrile ….(EN 374)
- Eye protection: Wear goggles ( EN 166)
- Body protection: Must be adapted to the level of activity and exposure (lab coat, antistatic shoes, overalls…)
- Additional information: Do not eat, drink or smoke while handling. Wash hands and face for time break and after work. Wash contaminated clothes before reuse.
Stability and reactivity
- Chemical stability: Stable under normal conditions of handling.
- Possibility of hazardous reactions:
- Conditions to avoid: Do not expose to light, excess of heat. Incompatible materials.
- Incompatible materials: Avoid contact with strong acids and bases, strong oxidizers and reducers.
- Hazardous decomposition products: Hydrogen cyanide, Nitrogen oxides, carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide.
Disposal considerations
- Waste treatment methods
- Substance disposal: Do not be disposed in house hold garbage. Do not allow product to reach sewage system. Contact a licensed professional waste disposal service to dispose of this material. Observe federal, state and local environment regulations.
- Dirty packaging disposal: Must be made according to official regulations and taken to an authorised special waste incineration plant.
