First-aid measures
Description of first aid measures
General advice:
in case of exposure seek medical advice.
If person is unconscious and breathing place in recovery position.
If person is not breathing give artificial respiration and immediately seek medical advice.
In the event of exposure by inhalation:
If breathed in, move person into fresh air. If not breathing, give artificial respiration. Immediately seek medical advice.
In the event of splashes or contact with eyes:
rinse cautiously with fresh ,clean water for several minutes. Remove contact lenses, if presentand easy to do. Continue rinsing with water for 15 minutes holding the eyelids open.
seek medical attention.
In the event of splashes or contact with skin:
remomve contaminated clothing and wash the skin thoroughly with soap and water.
watch out for any remaining product between skin and clothing, watches, shoes, etc.
if the contamination is to a large area and/or there is damage to the skin, seek medical advice immediately.
In the event of swallowing:
seek medical advice immediately. Show the label.
do not induce vomiting.
do not give the patient anything orally.
if the quantity is small (no more than one mouthful), rinse the mouth with water and seek medical advice.
Fire-fighting measures
Extinguishing media
suitable methods of extinction
ine the event of a fire, use: water spray, alcohol-resistant foam, dry chamical or CO2 extinguisher.
Unsuitable methods of extinction : none
special hazards arising from the subtance or mixture
a fire willl often produce a thick black smoke. Exposure to decomposition products may be hazardous to health.
do not breathe in smoke.
In the event of a fire, the following may be formed:
- carbon monoxide (CO)
- carbon dioxide (CO2)
- hydrogen chloride (HCl))
- phosgene (COCl2)
- hydrogen iodide 5HI)
advice for firefighters
due to the toxicity of the gas emitted on thermal decomposition of the producs, fire-fighting personnel are to be equipped with breathing apparatus.
use water to cool unopened containers.
Accidental release measures
personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures
consult the safety measures listed under headings "handling and storage" and "exposure controls/ personal protection"
For non-emergency personnel
use personal protective equipment . Avoid any contact with the skin and eyes. Avoid breathing vapours, mist or gas. If a large quantity has been split , evacuate all personneland only allow intervention by trained operators equipped with safety equipment.
For emergency responders
emergency responders must use suitable personal protective equipment.
Environmental precautions
prevent any material from entering drains or waterways. Discharge into the environment must be avoided.
Methods and material for containment and cleaning up.
absorb with inert non-combustible material (spill kit). Keep in suitable closed containers for disposal according to local regulations.
Handling and storage
Requirements relating to storage premises apply to all facilities where the substance is handled.
Precautions for safe handling
avoid contact with skin and eyes. Always wash hands after handling.
remove and wash contaminated clothing before re-using.
avoid inhalation of vapour or mist.
do not allow material to enter drains or waterways.
Fire prevention
handle in well-ventilated areas.
keep away from sources of ignition. Take measures to prevent the build- up of electrostatic charge.
prevent access by unauthorised personnel.
recommended equipment and procedures
observe precautions stated on labek and also industrial safety regulations.
ensure adequate ventilation, especially in confined areas.
also provide respirators for emergency interventions.
Prohibited equipment and procedures
no smoking, eating or drinking in areas where the substance is used.
Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities
storage
keep the container tightly closed in a cool, dry, well-ventilated place.
keep away from food and drink, including those for animals.
Packaging
always keep in packaging made of an identical material to the original.

Exposure controls / personal protection
Control parameters
contains no substances with occupational exposure limit values.
Exposure controls
Handle in accordance with good industrial hygiene and safety practice. Ensure that there is adequate ventilation, especially in confined areas. Never eat, drink or smoke during use. Wash hands bdfore breaks and at the end of workday.
Personal protection measures, such as personal protective equipment
use personal protective equipment that is clean and has been properly maintained.
store personal protective equipment in a clean place, away from the work area.
remove and wash contaminated clothing before re-using.
Eye/face protection
avoid contact with eyes.
wear mask goggles in accordance with standard EN 166.
provide eyewash stations in facilities where the product is
Exposure controls
handle in accordance with good industrial hygiene and safety practice.
Ensure that there is adequate ventilation, especially in confined areas.

- Phosgene (COCL2)
- Hydrogen iodide (HI)
Disposal considerations
Proper waste management of the substance and/or its container must be determined in accordance with Directive 2008/98/EC.
Waste treatment methods:
Contact a licensed professional waste disposal service to dispose of this material. Offer surplus and non-recyclable solutions to a
licensed disposal company. Dissolve or mix the material with a combustible solvent and burn in a chemical incinerator equipped with
an afterburner and scrubber.
Waste:
Waste management must be carried out without endangering human health, without harming the environment and, in particular,
without risk to water, air, soil, plants or animals.
Recycle or dispose of waste in compliance with current legislation via a certified collector or company.
Do not contaminate the ground or water with waste, do not dispose of waste into the environment.
Contaminated packaging:
Empty container completely. Keep label(s) on container.
Give to a certified disposal contractor
