First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: If inhaled, remove the patient to fresh air. If not

breathing, administer artificial respiration. Administer

oxygen when the patient is having difficulty with breathing.

If so, seek immediate medical attention.

Emergency measure - Eyes: If exposure to eyes has occured, flush copiously with water

for several minutes, if irritation develops, seek medical

attention.

Emergency measure - Skin: Skin contact is not expected to cause injury, but medical

attention should be sought if the patient feels unwell.

Contaminated skin should be washed with soap and water.

Emergency measure - Ingestion: If patient is fully conscious, give two glasses of water.

Induce vomiting. Obtain medical attention.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Dry powder, CO2, foam

spills. Ventilate enclosed areas.

Handling: Use ventilation during handling. Wear safety glasses,

PVC-coated gloves and goggles. Otherwise the normal

precautions common to safe manufactering practice should be

followed during handling and storage.

Storage: Do not store with strong oxidising agents, amines or

alkalies. The substance reacts with water or moisture to

liberate ethanol.
