The period of oscillation is dependent on the density of the sample in the tube. Therefore, by measuring the period of oscillation, the density or density related values are automatically calculated.

Description of key information
For this endpoint, a weight of evidence approach has been taken. According to a renowned handbook, the relative density of the test item is 0.8671 g/mL (CRC Handbook, 1993). Company measurements are also available. Relative density was determined by oscillating densitimeter for 14 samples, from different batches. The average relative density was found to be 0.8656.
