Guidance on Safe Use
Administrative data
First-aid measures
Skin contact: Wash off with plenty of water and soap for at least 15 minutes. Remove contaminated clothing and shoes. If irritation occurs or persists, get medical attention. Wash clothing and shoes before reuse.
Eye contact: Rinse out with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes with the eyelid held wide open. Call a physician.
Ingestion: Wash out mouth with water provided person is conscious. Call a physician.
In any case seek medical advice and call the nearest poison centre.
Fire-fighting measures
Special fire-fighting procedures: NIOSH approved positive pressure. Wear self-contained breathing apparatus and full protective turnout gear.
Unusual fire and explosions hazards: Dust can combine with air to form an explosive mixture.
Other information: May produce toxic fumes of carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide and nitrogen oxide. The composition of the combustion products hase not been determined. Prevent fire-fighting water from entering surface water or groundwater.
Accidental release measures
Environmental-protection measures: Do not allow to enter sewerage system.
Procedures for cleaning / absorption: Ventilate area and wash spill site after material pickup is complete. Cover with dry lime or soda ash, pick up, keep in a closed container and hold for waste disposal.
Handling and storage
Avoid contact with skin and eyes.
Storage
Store in dry, cool, well-ventilated area.
Mechanical ventilation is recommended.
Local exhaust is needed at source of vapours.
Local ventilation is needed at bulk vessel openings.
