Description of key information

No measured fish data is available for di (2-hydroxypropyl)tallow amine. The result of the acute fish test with di (2-hydroxyethyl)oleyl amine of 0.1 mg/L (LC50, 96h) is used to fill the data gap. This read-across is considered to be justified as a higher toxicity is observed in both the algae and long-term daphnia test for di (2-hydroxyethyl)oleyl amine than for di (2-hydropropyl)tallow amine.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

LC50 for freshwater fish:
0.1 mg/L

Additional information

No measured fish data is available for di (2-hydroxypropyl)tallow amine. The results of the acute fish test with di (2-hydroxyethyl)oleyl amine are used to fill the data gap. This read-across is considered to be justified as a higher toxicity is observed in both the algae and long-term daphnia test for di (2-hydroxyethyl)oleyl amine when compared to di (2-hydropropyl)tallow amine. More details on the justification can be found in IUCLID Chapter 13.
