Description of key information

Under the conditions of the OECD 301 guideline study the registered substance achieved 9-13% biodegradation after 28 days. The registered substance therefore fails the criteria for classification as 'Readily biodegradable' but can be considered to be inherently biodegradable.

inherently biodegradable

Additional information

The key study (Desmares-Koopermans, 2003) was conducted according to the OECD 301 guideline under conditions of GLP. The study was performed on activated sewage sludge from a municipal treatment plant treating predominantly domestic waste.

Under the conditions of the test the substance achieved 9 to 13% degradation after 28 days and therefore failed to meet the criteria for consideration as readily biodegradable as stated in 67/548/EEC.
