First-aid measures

First aid measurements:
- pay attention to self-protection
- Remove contaminated or soaked clothes

- Ventilate room
- Monitor inhalation, apply artificial respiration if necessary
- Get medical attention if problems with inhalation persist

Skin contact:
- Wash extensively with soap and water, seek medical attention if necessary

Eye contact:
- Irrigate immediately with large amounts of water until irritation subsides (irrigate for at least 15 minutes, also rinse under eye lids)
- Remove contact lenses (if possible)
- Protect unexposed eye
- Seek medical attention

- Aspiration hazard!
- If swallowed, do not induce vomiting, seek medical attention immediately
- If vomiting occurs spontaneously, ensure that substance does not enter lungs by aspiration
- Rinse mouth with water

Notes on medical emergence help or special treatment:
- While swallowing or vomiting, substance may enter lungs (aspiration hazard)
- Treat symptomatically
- No specific antidote known

Fire-fighting measures

Suitable fire-fighting equipment:
- water stream (spray), foam, CO2, extinguishing powder

Un-suitable fire-fighting equipment:
- water stream (full stream)

Specific dangers associated with substance (or mixtures thereof):
- In case of fire, cool endangered containers with water. Bursting can occur of closed containers with heating.
- Formation of ignitable or explosive steam-/air-mix is possible.
- Keep away from ignition sources (do not smoke).

Protective equipment at fire extinguishing activities:
- At formation of respirable dusts and/or fire gases, use self-contained breathing apparatus.

Instructions for fire-fighting activities:
- Firewater should not enter sewerage, ground water or surface water. Sufficient measures to collect firewater should be provided.
- Fire residues and contaminated fire water have to be disposed according to official regulations.

Accidental release measures

Personel precautionary measures, personal protection and measure to be taken in case of emergency:
- Wear protective equipment
- Avoid contact with skin or eyes
- Do not inhale steam/ aerosols
- Ventilate sufficiently
- Keep away from ignition sources (do not smoke)

Measurements for the environment:
- Do not spill into wastewater, sewage or soil.
- If compound leaves productionsprocess unintentionally, please inform relevant authorities.

Methods and material for containment and cleaning:
- Collect mechanically or with fluid-absorbing material
- Collect in marked, closely sealable containers
- Dispose according to regulations

Handling and storage

Precautionary measurements for safe handling:
- Wear protective cloting
- Avoid contact with skin or eyes
- Do not inhale steam or aerosols
- Ventilate properly

Notes on fire - and explosion protection:
- Take measures against electrostatic
Areas of fluid handling should be well ventilated. Avoid contact with eyes. Avoid prolonged or repeated breathing of vapor and contact with skin.

Store in well-sealed containers in ventilated area, keep away from open flames and areas where danger of fire exists.

Exposure controls / personal protection

1. Technical protection measures
If possible, use closed filling, siphoning, dispensing or mixing systems or apply local hood
2. Organisational protection measures
Further information
Inform local accreditation body
ACGIH (American Conference of Governmental Industry Hygienists)
3. Personal protection
- Respiratory protection
At occurrence of dusts/ damps/ aerosols of at exceeding limit values (eg MAK values):
Wear breathing apparatus with suitable filter (filtertype A), or use self-contained breathing apparatus.
- Hand protection
Wear protective gloves with chemical resistance (EN 374)
During short handling:
Glove material Gloves made of nitrile rubber (NBR)
Choose protective gloves dependent on workplace
The workplace dependent suitability should be clarified with manufacturer of protective gloves
The information should be based on self-audit, literature data and/or information from manufacturer, or information should be extrapolated from similar substances
It should be noted, that the daily service life of chemical protective gloves at work is significantly shorter due to several factors (like temperature) compared to the time officially stated (in EN 374)
- Eye protection
Protective goggles
- Body protection
Body protection are to be choosen dependent on hazard concentration and volume, an dependent on workplace
- Hygiene
Contaminated or soaked clothing should be removed immediately
Avoid contact with eyes or skin
Damps or aerosols should not be inhaled
Do not eat, drink or smoke during at workplace
Wash hands before breaks and at end of work
Apply hand cream regularly
- protective measurements
Wear suitable protective clothes at work

Stability and reactivity

Avoid heat or ignition sources
Materials incompatible with substance ar not known
No dangerous residues are known
Potential for dangerous reaction: damps can form explosive mix with air

Disposal considerations

Dispose according to local authorative prescriptions (eg dispose to appropriate incineration plant)
