Description of key information

A study (Tobor-Kaplon, 2013) was performed to assess the acute toxicity of the test item to Daphnia magna under static conditions. Considering the low water solubility of the substance, Daphnia were exposed to water-accommodated fractions of the substance. The results are expressed in terms of effective loadings (EL). Reaction Product of Oleic acid, N1-(9Z)-9-octadecen-1-yl-1,3-propanediamine and paraformaldehyde did not induce acute immobilisation of Daphnia magna at a WAF prepared at a loading rate of 1.0 mg/l after 48 hours of exposure (NOERL). A 48-h EL50 value greater than 1.0 and lower than 2.2 mg/L has been determined for the effects of the test substance on mobility of Daphnia magna. Analysis of the test preparations at 0 hours showed measured concentrations to be <1.97 mg/L. However this value is only indicative. The loading rate of 1.0 mg/L was completely dissolved in the test medium and can be considered as nominal. Hence in can be concluded that the EC50 was greater than 1.0 and below 2.0 mg/L.
