Description of key information

Results of an OECD 301 F ready biodegradation test indicate that nopyl acetate is ready biodegradable: 78% biodegradation after 28 days.

According to REACH, it is not necessary to conduct the following tests as nopyl acetate was demonstrated to be ready biodegradable:

- Hydrolysis test

- Biodegradation in water and sediment: simulation test

- Biodegradation in soil

The adsorption coefficient and the bioconcentration factor (BCF) were estimated by QSAR methods:

- log Koc (geometric means of 3 QSAR results) = 3.20 and Koc = 1602 L/kg

- BCF (geometric means of 3 QSAR results) = 434.8 L/kg

These results can be used as input parameters for environmental risk assessment.
