Description of key information

The purpose of the study is to evaluate the test substance for its ability to generate toxic effects in Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata during an exposure period of at least 48 and at most 96 hours and, if possible, to determine the NOEC, EC10 and EC50 for both inhibition of growth rate and inhibition of yield.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

Due to the very low solubility of this substance in test medium, concentration levels that might be toxic for algae could not be reached.

The EC50for both growth rate inhibition (72h-ERC50) and yield inhibition (72h-EYC50) was above the solubility limit of A4N3 in test medium.

The 72h-NOEC for both growth rate inhibition and yield inhibition was at the solubility limit of the substance in test medium.
