Linear regression equation:        log p = -3,842.4279 (1/T) + 11.5841

Conclusions:
The vapour pressure of Novares C 10 is estimated to be very low, approx. 0.03 - 0.08 Pa at ambient temperatures.

Description of key information

The vapour pressure of the substance ‘Naphtha (petroleum), steam-cracked, C8-10 aromatic hydrocarbon fraction, alkylated and oligomerised’ (NAF-AO) (see Chapter 1) was determined for four different specifications of the substance. At 20 and 25 °C, vapour pressures ranged from 0.007 to 0.03 Pa and from 0.01 to 0.05 Pa, respectively.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Vapour pressure:
0.03 Pa
at the temperature of:
20 °C

Additional information

Four reliable studies (according to OECD TG 104) were conducted to determine the vapour pressure of various specifications of NAF-AO. Corresponding pairs of vapour pressure and temperature between 1 and 100 hPa (corresponding temperature between 120 and 250 °C / 393.15 and 523.15 K) were determined. The vapour pressures at a given temperature were obtained by linear regression of the vapour pressure/temperature curves (plots of log p vs. 1/T). At 20 and 25 °C, the maximum vapour pressures were estimated to be not higher than 0.03 and 0.05 Pa, respectively.
