Description of key information

The registered substance is a clear colourless liquid at 20°C and 1013 hPa. Based on structure, surface activity is not expected. The registered substance is known to be stable in contact with air at room temperature for prolonged periods of time (days). Based on structure, there are no chemical groups present in the molecule which are associated with explosive or oxidising properties.

The melting point of the registered substance is <-23°C and the boiling point is 249.5±1°C at 1 atmosphere of pressure. The density is 854.5 kg/cm³ at 20°C. The vapour pressure is 0.91 Pa at 25°C. The water solubility is 0.73 mg/L at 20.4°C and the log Kow is 6.68. The flash point is 99.5°C (PMCC), which does not meet the criteria for classification according to CLP (EU 1272/2008 as amended) for a flammable liquid. The self-ignition temperature is 416°C. Testing has determined the registered substance is not Class 4.3 under the UN TDG nor a substance which in contact with water emits flammable gases under the UN-GHS/CLP regulations.
