Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Conclusion on classification

Biodegradation:

Not readily biodegradable (49%) within 28 d (OECD 301 B)

Bioaccumulation:

log Pow: 1.1 (Calculation method based on measured water solubility of phosphorus based anaylsis and measured octanol solubility of neat active test item)

Acute toxicity:

to fish: LL50 (96 h) > 100 mg a.i./L (nominal) for Danio rerio (OECD 203)

to aquatic invertebrates: EL50 (48 h) 72.7 mg a.i./L (nominal) for Daphnia magna (OECD 202)

to aquatic algae: EL50 (72 h) > 100 mg a.i./L (nominal) for Desmodesmus subspicatus based on growth rate (OECD 201)

Chronic toxicity:

to algae: EL10 (72 h) = 85.86 mg a.i./L (nominal) for Desmodesmus subspicatus based on growth rate (OECD 201)

Classification justification according to CLP:

Based on the data above the substance (CAS 52585-16-7) is not rapidly biodegradable. Acute aquatic toxicity data are available for three trophic levels. The lowest acute effect value was determined for Daphnia and amounts 72.7 mg a.i./L (EL50, 48 h). Chronic toxicity data are available only for algae with an EL10 of 85.86 mg a.i./L. Based on the available data the test item is classified and labelled as Category Chronic 3 for environmental hazards according to the consolidated version of Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008 and further amendments (ATPs).
