The impurity 1,5-naphthylenediamine (CAS 2243-62-1) of 1,8-naphthylenediamine (CAS 479-27-6) is listed in Annex VI (Part 3) of the CLP regulation. 1,5-naphthylenediamine is present in a typical concentration of ca. 0.2 % w/w (contentration range: >= 0 % - < 1 % w/w) and is classified as Carc. 2, Aquatic Acute 1 and Aquatic Chronic 1.
Nevertheless, the main substance 1,8-naphthelenediamine is also classified as Aquatic Acute 1 and Aquatic Chronic 1. Also the concentration is below 1 %.
Therefore, the impurity has no further impact on classification and is not relevant for the classification and labelling of 1,8-napthylenediamine.
