The thermal stability of Chloranil (2,3,5,6-tetrachloro-1,4-benzoquinone) was determined by Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC) in closed and open (air pressure 20 bar) glass crucials with a heating rate of 3 K/min. Besides an endothermic effect (sublimation) around 290 °C no exothermic reactions were observed up to the temperature of 450 °C.
