Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Acute toxicity on aquatic algae and cyanobacteria (freshwater Green Alga)

Key value for chemical safety assessment

EC50 for freshwater algae:
36.6 mg/L
EC10 or NOEC for freshwater algae:
25 mg/L

Additional information

To determine the acute toxicity of CHDM DGE to the freshwater green alga, Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata, two non-GLP screening assays were conducted. When possible, these data were used to determine EC50 and no-observable effect concentration (NOEC) values. Algae were exposed to solutions of 0, 1, 10, 25 and 50 mg/L of CHDM DGE. After 72 hours of exposure, algal cells counts were recorded and EC50 (the concentration at which a 50% inhibition occurs) no-observable effect concentrations (NOEC) for cell density were calculated. EC50 and NOEC values for CHDM DGE was 36.6 mg/L and 25 mg/L, respectively.
