Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Water calibration:

Temp. = 24 °C, σ = 0.997 g/cm³.

Surface tension of purified water was determined by the arithmetic mean of six measurements, which is 71.4 mN/m (theoretical value is 72.0 mN/m, therefore correction factor is 1.0084).

Two solutions were tested six times:

First solution: c = 1.001 g/L, temp. = 23 °C, σ = 0.997 g/cm³, age of solution = 143 min.

Arithmetic mean of six measurements is 23.3 mN/m, standard deviation is 0.5 mN/m.

Second solution: c = 1.004 g/L, temp. = 23 °C, σ = 0.997 g/cm³, age of solution = 151 min.

Arithmetic mean of six measurements is 22.9 mN/m, standard deviation is 1.1 mN/m.

Arithmetic mean of two test solution is 23.1 mN/m (± 0.28 mN/m)

Arithmetic mean corrected by calibration factor determined via water calibration is 23.3 mN/m.
