Description of key information

Based on read across alkenes C11/13/14 are readily biodegradable.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

Turner and Watkinson (1985) found that Alkenes C10/11/12/13 were readily biodegradable and Battersby (1995) reports that C14 -16 alpha olefins were also readily biodegradable. Based on read across from these two studies which test substances that span the carbon range of this substance we can conclude that alkenes C11/13/14 are readily biodegradable.
