The main degradation pathway in the environment for this test substance is reaction with tropospheric hydroxyl radicals (Taketani et al., 2005). The atmospheric half-life of the substance was estimated to be 1.4 years (Taketani et al., 2005). Atmospheric oxidation of the test substance initially produces COF2 which is subsequently converted to CO2 and HF within 1-2 weeks. The substance does not contain chlorine and does not contribute to stratospheric ozone destruction. It has a short atmospheric lifetime and will not contribute significantly to global warming.
