Adequacy of study:
key study
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
other: Conducted at a GLP accredited laboratory to GLP.
Qualifier:
according to
Guideline:
EU Method A.5 (Surface Tension)
Deviations:
no
GLP compliance:
yes (incl. certificate)
Type of method:
ring method
Key result
Surface tension:
71 mN/m
Temp.:
20 °C
Conc.:
90 vol%

Comments:

The test solution was prepared by adding 1.611 ml water to 14.5 ml of concentrated sample solution to obtain 90 % saturation.

Note:

The calibration factor is determined by measuring the Surface Tension of water and comparing the value obtained in literature (72.75 mN.m-1 at 20°C). The corrected value is taken from a table compiled on the basis of the Harkins-Jordan correction.

Executive summary:

Result : 48.6 mN/m (mean value)
