Registration Dossier

Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Administrative data

First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: In case of accident by inhalation: remove casaulty to fresh

air and keep at rest. Call a physician.

Emergency measure - Eyes: Rinse with plenty of water and consult a physician.

Emergency measure - Skin: Remove contaminated clothing immediately.

Wash off with soap and plenty of water and consult a

physician.

Emergency measure - Ingestion: Do not induce vomiting. Rinse mouth with water. Consult a

physician.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: water spray, foam, carbon dioxide, dry powder, sand

Product arising from burning: carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, water, hydrogen chloride

Product determined by test: N

Protective equipment: In case of fire wear self contained breathing apparatus.

Use water spray to cool unopened containers.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Avoid any contact with spilt product or contaminated

surfaces.

Wear personal protective equipment (see 2.3.10).

Unprotected persons must be kept away.

Soak up or pump off spillage and collect in suitable

tightly closed waste containers which have to be labelled

according to TRGS 201.

Dispose according to local regulations.

Do not flush into surface water or sanitary sewer systems.

Handling and storage

Handling: Working procedures must always be designed so that contact

with the skin and eyes is excluded. Avoid inhalation of the

substance.

As far as possible, closed equipment has to be used during

transfer and metered feeding as well as during sampling.

In the case of handling the substance in open systems,

extract any vapours or aerosols which might form directly

at the point of origin.

If technical extraction or ventilation measures are not

possible or are insufficient, suitable respiratory

protection (e.g. filter apparatus, Filter ABEK-P2) must be

worn.

Even if skin contact is only possible for short periods,

tested protective gloves (e.g. made of nitrile rubber) and

suitable protective clothing must be worn.

Safe eye protection (e.g. tight-fitting safety goggles) is

absolutely essential.

Adequate washing facilities and conspicuously labelled

eye-douche stations should be provided in the immediate

vicinity of the working area. After contact with the skin,

the affected parts of the body should be immediately

thoroughly cleaned using soap and plenty of water.

Contaminated clothing must be changed immediately. Special

skin-protection and skin-care measures are recommended.

A skin-protection plan must be drawn up.

If vapours or aerosols can develop, due to the potential

explosion risk, potential sources of ignition should be

removed out of the working area. In addition, measures

should be taken to prevent electrostatic discharges.

Storage: Apply the VCI concept for the Mixed Storage of Chemicals.

Store in original container.

Keep container tightly closed.

Do not store in heat or direct sunlight.

Keep in a dry, cool and well-ventilated place.

Keep away from food, drink and animal feeding stuffs.

Packaging of the substance and or preparation: Drums, 200L

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: The substance will be used as an intermediate in the

chemical industry and can not be recycled.

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: none known

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Incineration.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Industrial incinerator with gas scubber.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Treatment in an industrial sewage water treatment plant.

Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Not applicable, industrial intermediate only.
