Additional information

Flammability:

In an UN N.1 method study, ZMB2 is not flammable (Bayer, 2011).

Pyrophoricity:

In an UN N.1 method study, ZMB2 has no pyrophoric properties (Bayer, 2011).

Flammability on contact with water:

In an UN N.1 method study, ZMB2 does not emit flammable gases in contact with water (Bayer, 2011).

Justification for classification or non-classification

Flamability:

Upon removal of the ignition source the flame extinguished within the start segment.

According to Regulation EC No. 1272/2008 on classification, labelling and packaging (CLP) of substances and mixtures, Table 2.7.1, the substance is not classified as a flammable solid.

Pyrophoricity:

ZMB2 is known to be stable at room temperature

According to Regulation EC No. 1272/2008 on classification, labelling and packaging (CLP) of substances and mixtures, Table 2.10.1, the substance is not classified as a pyrophoric solid.

Flammability on contact with water:

ZMB2 does not emit flammable gases in contact with water.

According to Regulation EC No. 1272/2008 on classification, labelling and packaging (CLP) of substances and mixtures, Table 2.12.1, the substance is not classified as a substance which in contact with water emit flammable gases.
