Water solubility (silanol hydrolysis product) = 760,000 mg/L at 20°C

The requirement to test the substance for water solubility is waived because in contact with water the substance rapidly hydrolyses to form methylsilanediol and hydrogen chloride. The Log Kow of the silanol hydrolysis product has been calculated using a validated QSAR. The silanolhas a very high predicted water solubilty of 760,000 mg/l at 20°C; however, in practice the substance will undergo condensation reactions and not reach this concentration. The submission substance hydrolyses very rapidly so the water solubility of the hydrolysis product is considered more relevant for regulatory purposes than the water solubility of the submission substance.
