Description of key information

Photodegradation of chlorodifluoromethane was calculated based on an overall rate constant of 0.0065 10E-12 cm3/molecule-sec and a concentration of 500,000 OH-radicals/cm3 at a 24-hr day.

The photodegradation of chlorodifluoromethane in air with OH-radicals was calculated with EPIWIN v.4.00, AOPWIN v.1.92. Half-life calculation based on a 24 -hr day gave a value of 2463.04 days. The substance is concluded to stay a very long time in the atmosphere.
