Description of key information

In a study according to OECD test guideline 201 under GLP using a mixture of the registered substance and a close homologue with a C8 instead of a C10 chain, the growth rate EC50 (72h) of the test substance was 16.06 mg/l, and the growth rate EC10 (72h) was 4.17 mg/l.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

EC50 for freshwater algae:
16.06 mg/L
EC10 or NOEC for freshwater algae:
4.17 mg/L

Additional information

A reliable study according to OECD test guideline 201 under GLP with the alga Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata assessing the toxicity of a mixture of the registered substance and a close homologue with a C8 instead of a C10 chain, to algae is available. The test substance was applied directly (no vehicle was used) for 72h in a static freshwater system. Good agreement of nominal and measured concentrations was verified analytically. All validity criteria were met. The growth rate EC50 (72h) of the test substance was 16.06 mg/l, while the EC10 was 4.17 mg/L.

Results are read-across to the registered substance.
