Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Standard microbial test data are unavailable. STP toxicity testing is not needed as the substance is readily biodegradable. Moreover, at the concentration used in the ready biodegradability test (100 mg/L), the substance is not inhibitory. This concentration is used as a NOEC value.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

EC10 or NOEC for microorganisms:
100 mg/L

Additional information

In accordance with Annex VIII Section 9.1.4 of Regulation (EC) No. 1907/2006, an activated sludge respiration inhibition test does not need to be conducted if the substance is found to be readily biodegradable. The initial test substance concentration of 100 mg/L used in the ready biodegradability test is considered to be the concentration at which toxicity to the inoculum can be ruled out and, in accordance with ECHA Guidance on information requirements and chemical safety assessment Chapter R10: Characterisation of dose [concentration]-response for the environment, this value can be used to calculate the STP PNEC in the absence of standard microbial tests.
